OPD100 System Information

The easy self install OPD100 Load Moment Indication (LMI) system (Rated Capacity Indication system) is designed to work on all heavy lifting machines displaying the crane's position, capacity and crane load indication, machine limitations.

The system gives both audible and visual warning in overload or 2-block conditions and relay cut-off to override the crane to insure its safety.

The OPD100 is compatible on these lifting machines
  • Mobile hydraulic crane
  • Mobile Lattice crane
  • Forklift
  • Telehandlers
  • Frontend loader
  • Scales
  • Tower crane

What exactly is the OPD100 system?

The OPD 100 Safe Load Indicator is an electromechanical measuring system, which compares the actual values from various measuring sensors with the set values derived from the load-chart curves presented by the crane manufacturer.

A Safe Load Indicator (SLI) or an Automatic Safe Load Indicator (ASLI) is a device which is installed on mobile or portal cranes to alert the operator if the lift is exceeding the safe operating range of the machinery.

Basic features of the OPD 100:

  • Boom length and angle
  • Radius of load
  • Load on hook (actual load) and Permissible load (rated load)
  • Percentage indication of max load
  • A-2-B alarm (over-hoist)
  • Data logging of events (down-loadable to laptop)
  • Load input Via Rope dynamometer or pressure sensor
  • Output for cut-off device (cut off device excluded)

  • LCD Display:
  • Crane Operational Profile
  • Radius, boom length and boom angle
  • Total lifted load and maximum load per rating
  • Date and Time
  • Lifted load percentage of maximum load
  • Main hook lifted load; auxiliary hook lifted load
  • Hook rope falls for main hook and auxiliary hook
  • Relay output of crane motion cut-off for overload and over hoists (A-2-B)

Installation

The installation comprises of writing of software, installing of new hardware and calibration. During the installation process, we will ensure that all functions of the SLI are working optimally to ensure a long and productive usage of the new system.  We will also connect the existing cut-off device to the new safety computer and check its function.
